The siege on the U.S. embassy in Iraq was called off yesterday as leaders of the Iran-backed militia behind the demonstration ordered protesters to withdraw. The retreat marked an end to the crisis in which thousands of angry militia supporters attempted to storm the embassy, trapping diplomats and staffers inside. The Washington Post

Starting October 1, travelers will need a driver’s license that complies with the Real ID Act in order to board an airplane. NBC News
