Three U.S. firefighters were killed in a plane crash while battling Australian wildfires in New South Wales. The cause of the accident is unknown.

We still don’t know, but the UN called for an investigation into the “possible involvement” of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who allegedly sent a WhatsApp message that triggered the phone hack. The Amazon CEO also owns the Washington Post, where Jamal Khashoggi — the columnist who was killed by a Saudi hit squad in 2018 — used to work. CNBC

Eli Manning is retiring from the NFL after 16 seasons. The quarterback, 39, holds almost every passing record for the New York Giants and was twice named Super Bowl MVP. The decision comes after he spent most of this season as a backup. ESPN
