Democrats release impeachment report

The House Judiciary Committee released a 55-page report on Saturday that detailed the constitutional grounds for the impeachment of President Trump. Building off the document used in the Nixon investigation, it outlines the committee’s standard for what qualifies as an impeachable offense. Politico

	However, the chairman of the Judiciary Committee said that Democrats will not decide on the specific articles of impeachment until after today’s hearing, when the House Intelligence Committee shares its findings. As for an actual vote? It could happen as early as this week. Reuters

Russia will be banned from the next two Olympics for doping violations, the World Anti-Doping Agency’s board voted this morning. The punishment comes after new revelations about the state-powered doping program, which peaked at the Sochi games in 2014. Russians who have not been implicated in the scandal will still able to compete as unaffiliated athletes. The New York Times

The FBI is officially investigating the shooting at the Pensacola naval base as an act of terrorism. The gunman, a Saudi Arabian aviation student, killed three people and wounded eight on Friday. The Washington Post

A volcano erupted in New Zealand, leaving at least five dead and several missing. White Island, also known as Whakaari, is one of the country’s most active volcanoes — but despite that, it remained a tourist destination.
