A Wuhan doctor who was among the first to warn the public about the new coronavirus died from the disease early Friday morning. Li Wenliang, who is being hailed a hero across Chinese social media, was initially targeted by the police for sharing information about the virus. The number of confirmed cases is now at least 31,420, with more than 31,000 of those in mainland China. South China Morning Post
