Alabama became the latest state to make face coverings a requirement in public, joining more than 20 others. Walmart announced it will make masks mandatory inside its stores, following similar actions by Costco and Starbucks. The Washington Post

Infections continued to surge around the country, with nearly half of states reporting their worst week for new cases. Oklahoma governor Kevin Stitt became the first governor in the U.S. to to announce that he tested positive for the virus. USA TODAY
