More blows to Trump’s election claims 

Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court ruled against a Trump campaign lawsuit that claimed GOP poll watchers didn’t have sufficient access. Meanwhile, Republicans in Michigan’s most populous county reversed their initial refusal to officially certify the election results, formalizing Joe Biden’s victory in the state. The Washington Post

Trump fired the top cybersecurity official at the Department of Homeland Security, who had disputed his claims of voter fraud. The Guardian

Biden tapped several more officials to serve in his administration, including former Congressional Black Caucus chair Cedric Richmond and campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon. BuzzFeed News

Trump ordered the Pentagon to withdraw more troops from Iraq and Afghanistan before Biden’s inauguration. The move drew bipartisan criticism, including from Mitch McConnell and NATO’s secretary general. Reuters

The COVID-19 vaccine being developed by Pfizer was 95% effective in final results, the company said, noting it plans to seek emergency authorization within days. The Wall Street Journal
