Since officially entering the 2016 presidential race in April, Hillary Clinton has been actively avoiding interaction with the media. Meanwhile, her campaign has been plagued by scandal -- from concerns about her private email server to new questions surrounding what she knew about the Benghazi attacks, to the serious questions being raised about donations made to the Clinton Foundation during her tenure as secretary of state.

Shortly after the Transportation Security Administration was created in November 2001, and the federal government assumed all responsibility for screening at U.S. airports, airline crews were scratching their heads. Weren't these people with the new blue uniforms just refugees from the ranks of the now-unemployed private screening companies? Other than pilots having their toenail clippers confiscated even while dressed in full uniform and carrying appropriate ID, had anything really changed?

So Bruce Jenner officially said farewell to his former male identity by introducing the world to Caitlyn Jenner Monday in, quite literally, the way only a major Hollywood figure could: via a Vanity Fair cover previewed in a tweet. As a social media connection of mine mused earlier in the week: "Sadly, this is probably the only way that (VF editor) Graydon Carter would ever agree to put a woman in her sixties on the cover of Vanity Fair."


Is this a new threat from China?
